A lot on my plate

So, I have been up to a lot of little things lately, especially trying to get some things made to put in my new shop, LittleBirdWares.Etsy.com. It's been slow going, but I think I am starting to make a dent.
I have gone through and organized a bunch of my ideas and projects that I have written down, and that has helped quite a bit to give me some balance and help me focus.
I've done some more work on my painting of Mary and Jesus and when I get some more white paint, think I will be able to finish it! The paintings of the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts should be done soon, too.
I am very excited for Easter! I am ready to finish Lent and Celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus.
Also working on putting together a giveaway to celebrate the opening of Little Bird Wares. I should have details up the first week of April sometime.

Hangers?? I have access to some extra, unneeded hangers from the cleaners. I have been trying to think of something I could make with them or a way to re-purpose them. I have a few ideas but am open for suggestions if you have them.

Enjoying the sunshine and fair weather we have been having and hope it sticks around. :) Hope everyone is having a great week so far and has a very happy and Holy week following!

A Garden For Mary

Someone shared this with me recently so I decided to pass it along. It is a site about planting a garden for Mary.

I had just planted some flowers before reading this so I have a little head start. I am happy to dedicate my little garden to Mary and look forward to being reminded of her when I look at it now.

This is my window garden where I have started my flowers. There is Baby's Breath, Chamomile, Alyssum, Calendulas, Forget-Me-Nots and some wild flowers. Oh, and some basil in the back there. Hope they all make it! I'm still new at all this gardening stuff.

Here is my vegetable and herb garden. The three big pots and everything in them were my birthday present from my husband. :)
And here is a humming bird who showed up for the photo shoot. :)

Why "A Little Bird"?

So you ask, why "A Little Bird"? Well, I was trying to think of a name, but wouldn't you know it, everything that came to mind just wasn't singing to me. all my ideas sounded flat, dull and boring, then it hit me! Like a soft feather floating softly down from above. :) You see, I started a little garden recently and added a humming bird feeder and a dish with bird seeds. Sometimes when I sit out and enjoy a nice warm day by my garden I often see many little birds now. Well, after a while, these birds got me thinking. They reminded me of the verse in the bible about how God cares for the flowers in the field and the birds and how we should not worry because He loves and cares for us so much more (Matthew 5:43-48). The more I thought about these little birds and the qualities they have, the more I liked the name, "A Little Bird". I like how these birds are simple and free (unless someone happens to catch them), how they greet each day with a joyful song, how they seem to have no worries and especially how they do not have or need many things to live and are so dependent on God. These are all qualities I need to work on and hope to have someday. I think my little bird and any bird I see will be a good reminder to me of this. And there you have it.

Lent Activity Calendar

I know it's a little late, but I made this Lent Calendar recently and wanted to share it. If anyone is interested, I also have a list of things you can do for each day of lent that have to do with fasting, prayer and drawing closer to God this Lenten season. Just let me know, and I'll find some way to get it to you.

For my husband

I just want to lovingly dedicate this blog to my husband. I would not be much without you and am thankful for your love and support. It is because of you I am starting this blog in the first place. Thank you and I love you with all my heart!

Lovingly yours
